I need help with a starter?
I have a Mastercraft Marist 92 240 454 Indmar Marine with it and went to start today and the solenoid clicks then did nothing, remains the development of the battery because i notice a voltage drop when I bump the key, does anyone know what parts of Advance Auto oreilly auto part or not. to replace the starter motor is of existence?
If you hear the starter Bendix engage the flywheel then your stuck, still usually move the engine a little, pay close attention to the balancer. If you do not hear the Bendix part then your starter is bad or dirty. Try to hit the motor Starting a couple of times with a mallet. If its dirty you should loosen it and it'll work a little. Or how the engine will have to go out and be dismantled. spray the cleaner of pieces down with electronics ($ 5) put back together and must work, I say this because starters do not stop working j uess you've been holding the key dm below. Nontheless if worse comes to worst start a 454 has the number of oreilys 03-3367X ($ 30) and no, there is no difference between a mercruiser starter and a Chevy truck boot.
