How I can know if my solar trickle charger is not working?
I attached a solar charger for a drop of lead-acid battery small. I have tried the panel and there are only 19v, but when it attaches to the battery voltage was the same as the battery alone (12.44v). Then I put a multimeter between the positive output of the panel and the battery positive to see if any current flowing in the battery, and is said to 0mA, I'm going to assume that it is working. It is the panel not only large enough for the battery or am I missing something?
19V is good for charging a 12 V, once connected to the battery to get down to the battery voltage. If the battery is measured 12.44V sounds like it is really low, should be close to 14V when full. Depending the size of the solar panel will probably take days to load it again. You can test the solar panel without the battery to the ammeter. Just set the meter to measure amps, you may have to move one of the drivers, and measured by positive and negative wires as you did to measure the voltage. If the battery is not charging after a few days the battery may be dead from being drained too.
