Solar panels and fractals?
Cell phone antennas using fractal geometry to receive multiple RF signals. This also allows them to be compact (why not see or antennas emerging from cellular phones). My question is, why not use the same technology with solar panels? Currently only convert light into electricity in a few wavelengths. Switching to a fractal pattern of the filaments that allow them to capture a wider range of wavelengths and increase performance. Right?
I have no answer, but I found this searching the net for similar uses fractal. We only beginning to understand more advanced fractal mathematics and its applications. Solar is currently in the field of information technology and behaves as a (exponential growth, with rapid decrease in costs). I would be surprised if solar manufacturers in the world, were already doing some form of the fractal geometry in their designs. would be very interested in finding more information though ...
