I bought mugicha (barley) tea bags and want to make hot tea - how do I brew it?
I bought barley teabags in the Japanese grocery store because I wanted a caffeine-free hot tea. The brewing instructions on the bag are in Japanese so I can't understand them.
How hot should the water be and how long should I steep the teabags?
Bring water almost to a boil, or let it cool a minute or so after it comes to a boil.
Place teabag in teapot or cup, pour hot water in pot or cup. Allow to steep for at least 5 minutes.
Emjoy.
BTW these are just generalized tea-making directions. I don't know if there are special methods relating to "barley teabags."
